My Journey

Associate Professor of Women’s Spirituality

I am a full-time core faculty member at the California Institute of Integral Studies, where I have been teaching since 2011. I served as the department chair from 2012 to 2016, during which time I founded the MA Program in Women, Gender, Spirituality, and Social Justice. My research and teaching center on the following topics:

  • Spiritual Activism

  • Integral Feminist Pedagogy

  • Women’s Transformative Leadership

  • Ecofeminism and Animal Ethics

  • Intergroup Dialogue and Gender Justice

Engaged Scholarship

I am committed to bringing socially relevant and sacred scholarship outside of the ivory tower and into the public sphere. I bring accessible, heart-centered workshops and talks to social change organizations. I also enjoy working with individuals who are seeking to shake off patriarchal conditioning and develop more holistic, integrated, and authentic ways of being.
